Good morning. What comes to mind? A gentle smile, a smirk, a sweet moment, a secret whispered between two friends. The baby who was crying in a cart...I was able to talk to her for a few minutes, and I saw a smile creep out. Three days later, I ran into the mom again at Target, and she remembered, and she thanked me, and I thought, I made a small difference in someone's day. Cool.

Perhaps that is my profession.

Yesterday, after work, I put my arms around an ancient tree, and I gripped him tightly. Yes, him. I felt a certain safety there. I felt heard, comforted just for a moment.

Yes.
